Privacy Policy

Plain language, no fine print.

This policy covers the English pages of rega1.co.il (everything under /en) and the solo version of the desert island game at desert-island-rho.vercel.app. It explains what we collect, why, who else handles it, and what you can do about it.

Who we are

Rega1 is run by Shlomo Sasson, based in Israel. He is the data controller for the information described here. You can reach him at shlomo@club-tec.co.il.

What we collect on this website

  • Which pages you visit, when, and how long you stay.
  • How far you scroll on a page.
  • Clicks on the button that opens a game.
  • Your device type (phone or computer) and the country you're visiting from.
  • The website or link that brought you here.

To count a returning visitor once instead of twice, your browser stores a random ID in local storage. It's just a random number and isn't linked to your name or contact details. We don't store IP addresses with these records, we don't use advertising cookies, and we don't track you on other websites.

What the desert island game collects

  • The name you type in, which can be any name you like.
  • The character and color you pick, the items you choose, and your final item.
  • The personal reading written for you, so you can come back to it.
  • Feedback, but only if you choose to send it.

Please don't type sensitive personal information into the game. Your game is saved under a private link that only you have. We don't ask for your email or phone number.

Why we use it

  • To run the game and show you your result. The legal basis is providing the service you asked for.
  • To understand which pages and games work, and to fix what doesn't. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the site, using data that isn't linked to your name or contact details.

We don't sell your data, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't make decisions about you based on it. The reading is for fun and reflection only.

Who else handles it

  • Vercel hosts the website and the game, and stores the usage data.
  • Upstash stores the game data.
  • Anthropic receives your name, character, and item choices so its AI model can write your reading.

Some of these providers process data outside your country, including in the United States. We rely on their standard data protection terms for these transfers.

How long we keep it

Usage data is deleted automatically after 60 days. Game data is kept so your private link keeps working. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to receive a copy of it. To use any of these rights, email us and include your game link if your request is about a game. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Turn off data collection

You can switch off usage data collection in this browser with one click. Your choice is saved on your device.

Children

The games aren't meant for children under 16. If you think a child has given us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
